PCV # 6 Update Not Done by Dealer - scam or error? Posted by Tarooka [Email] (#159) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Tarooka) on Sat, 11 Apr 2009 09:21:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Thank goodness for Saabnet. I casually read a post about the update and saw a picture of what one should look like, provided by SwedeCar. I requested and paid for the update at my local Saab dealer last August. The charged me $385 for parts and labor.
After lifting the hood and looking at my car I realized my hose config didn't look like the referenced picture. Holy crap! My 03 Aero only has 32,000 miles and this was done at the 27,000 mile mark. I pulled the technical bulletin, Genuine Saab's picture of the Crank Vent Kit and checked off against the parts on the invoice. Certain parts were listed, but they didn't use the kit recommended by Saab in the Technical Bulletin.
I called the service manager and have an appointment to visit him and the shop manager next Tuesday. My objective is to have the work completed as paid for and specified in the Technical Bulletin.
Any input would be appreciated
