Auid's do break and are very complicated. I don't trust the ZF tiptronics but would take the manual or the SMG versions over any Saab.
I bet for every "never had a problem" Saab owner there is the equivalent Audi owner. I think Saabs are wonderful cars and lots of bang for the buck used. I bought mine with ~36k miles, still under factory warranty, for less than half the new cost.
all before 50k miles and under warranty:
My 04 9-5 has had a
Head gasket leak
Drivers window rattle (rollers replaced)
New rear shocks installed (not covered)
Rear hatch lock actuator and latch replaced
Dash trim and shifter trim replaced do to warp age and cracking
And finally my alarm computer was replaced due to service theft alarm message.
I still love the car, but If I were dropping the $35 - $38k for a new car it wouldn't be the 09 Saab.
