I am near replacing my rear rotors for my 1999 9-5 as a result of driving with a disabled ABS (Automatic Braking System) unit for a few months. Not to make a long story, but while I was getting this thing properly diagnosed, I was told by my indie mechanic that without ABS, the front brakes aren't really working and the rears have to do most of the work. Anyway, you can get a pair of great quality drilled rotors by Zimmermann ($130 rear set - http://www.eeroparts.com). I bought these first for my front brakes along with some pricey Akebono ceramic pads ($72 rear set - http://www.Tirerack.com) and with this combo you will be shocked at how clean your wheels will stay for months, not to mention the better performance braking. I am not a hard performance driver, but the safety factor and feel is nice. Despite the performance improvements, the Akebono pads seem to be gentler on the rotors compared to other ceramic brands. Several people her on SaabNet seem to say the recent Saab OEM pads are made by this company, but I bought them from Tire Rack.
Best of Luck - Keep on Saabing!
