Sounds like you certainly have done your homework/had prior experience on this one.. I found Saab split chain for like $85 last night searching other sites, they state geuine Saab anyway... not terribly more than IWIS for peace of mind given whnat you have mentioned.. but here's my follow up questions..
I ordered new timing sprockets as I figured may as well to perhaps help save some wear on new timing chain and maybe taught it up some even thought the existing sprockets did not look worn at all like I have seen others look. All I could find on site sponsor and other site I use was Scan Tech sprockets.. when I got them, I compared to stock sprockets lining up exactly and there was not really a noticible visual wear pattern on old ones, very slight wear indent where link hits bottom of teeth so still thought I'd throw the new ones in..
Do you or does anyone have any opinions on the quality of Scan tech cam sprockets/hardness, etc?
Given the very little visual wear on cam sprockets, any opinion on how the unseen crank sprocket wears for 175K miles?? very very negligible/small metal slivers in oil pan..
Any opinion on copper head gasket spray for my situation?
many thanks again, I truly appreciate your opinion/experience as I muddle through this repair folley
