A laundry list of things to look for - very unlikely any one car would need all of them.
Right side engine mount $150 if bad vibration
under battery engine mount $100 ... ditto
ignition casette - if you take it off and see a 917XXXX part number. Recalled and may be free.
A/C - press auto and off - if anything other than '0' them there might be a problem.
center dash display - if bad can be fixed for $100 ish
Wheel bearings/ suspensions/ driveshafts are all more reliable than the average car.
Serp belt & tensioner - $200 in parts & same for labor if not changed recently ( V6 is very different & much more $$$)
Turbo - does it smoke at startup - approx $500 in parts to rebuild.
Tranny - clean fluid & does it shift nicely
Engine - realy only issue is sludge from bad oil change intervals - tough to detect apart from dropping the oil pan. Removing the head cover migh give you come clues.
Oil pressure sendor may leak - $20 in parts & 1/2 hour labor
Water thermostat & temp gauge - ditto in price and labor.
Fuel pump $500 new but can be rebuilt for $100 - pump can be accessed from under rear seats - very easy
Fuel filter $10, air filter $30, cabin filter $30.
I fully intend to keep my 99 9-5 to well over 200K.
Hope that helps
