No 60k mile maintenance? You are asking for trouble on so many levels mister! You NEED to replace the timing belt and pulleys/tensioners IMMEDIATELY! This is good timing because they're all very accessible while the water pump is being replaced. Have everything done, pay the bill, and count your lucky stars those tensioners didn't seize up on you and your timing belt didn't shred to pieces! Hopefully that grinding sound you described WAS the water pump. It may very well have been the timing belt seizing up and ripping the water pump pulley off! Not to be too harsh or anything, but if you're not going to maintain your car you maaay want to look into a Honda or Toyota... Saabs don't take well to neglect.
