OK, yet another small quandry.. for anyone new that may look at this post, 1999 9-5 SE swapping turbo to TD04..
My used turbo came with all lines and all banjo bolts, 2 bolts were left on turbo with small oil and cooling tubes and others in a bag.. 13MM flange hex head for oil line, and 17MM flat hex head for small cooling line..
stupid me mixed the rest of the td04 bolts with my old banjo bolts to pick the ones with the least rounded hex heads and now I see there are 3 different M14 banjos with different # of and size holes and different hex head sizes (the M12 have different hex heads also, 13MM flange and 17MM flat)..
I have two M14 bolts with 13MM flange heads that only have 2 holes in them and holes are also smaller than other M14 bolts.. other M14's with 4 hole have either 17MM flat head or 13MM flange heads.. I do know that one of the 2 hole M14 bolts with 13MM flange head was in the cooling port connecting coolant hose to head inmy 1999 as I had left it in there..
I tried checking on the EPC and that really didn't help me figure this out.. went on Eeuroparts diagram and 2004 does not list this bolt as available but 1999 does and shows the 2 holer?
the other M14 with 2 holes that was not in my cyl head port and also has 13MM flange head looks the same age tint as the one in my cyl head.. so not sure if it was the m14 bolt from my 1999 turbo side of this cooling line, or maybe the one that came with the TD04 for the cyl head port?
I guess short question would be, for TD04 are all banjo bolts 4 holes for better flow including the one at cyl head port or should I keep the 2 holer that was in this line for the garret? The other side of this TD04 line is now a M12 bolt and all those have 4 holes so no choice there??
Just don't want to restrict flow with 2 holer or have too muchflow with 4 holer?
Here a pic showing the different styles..
I'm there and ready to connect em...
Many thanks for your help agin!
