The dealer usually would change fluid differently than we do as DIY. We take off the drain plug, drain the fluid, and refill through dipstick. The way dealer is supposed to do that (as described in WIS at least) is to take off transmission cooling lines (going to radiator) and connect them to flushing machine. Then turn on the car and the machine, and look how the old fluid drains out while fresh one is supplied until fluid draining is clear (kinda like when changing brake fluid). This method is good as it will replace all fluid at once (rather than 3 drain/refills that replace about 90% of it), but it requires a machine that is probably more expensive than the car ;-). Also, flushing under pressure can stir up some sediment, which is not very good for old transmissions. Drain/refill is much less aggressive.
As for the washer - I ordered 5 last year from eeuroparts to have handy. Last weekend I did 3 drain/refill cycles.... but couldn't find the washers anywhere (something to do with wife "cleaning up" unnecessary garbage). So I put the old one back instead. It was little looser than I would like, but so far no leaks.
