I had a similar issue and I ended up cleaning the front and rear leveling sensors. They are somewhat exposed to dirt and grime and I spray WD-40 on the sensor arms everytime I change the oil and I have not have an auto-leveling issue ever since. I have found that the xenon bulbs tend to need to be replace every 3 to 4 years depending how often they are used. The orginal bulbs lasted only 2 years with DRL. I turned off the DRL and I am on my 2nd pair for my 2003 and I will likely replace again this Fall after almost 4 years on the current bulbs. They are starting to turn a little purple which means they are starting to go. Unlike hologens, xenons slowly dim and turn from bright white to a purple/yellow tint. Halogens usually just stop working.
