... you may get an initial couple feet of skid at 70 mph while the ABS takes over, but not 30ft. I had an incident where we were doing 75+ and come over a crest to stopped construction traffic. I practically put my foot through the firewall and all I got was a few "chirps" and lots of grinding/groaning while the ABS cycled. If not for ABS I would have come close to stopping in time during the panic stop. I do not know where the guy above got his information about ABS, but it has nothing to do with slippery surfaces, it has to do with wheel lockup regardless of surface.
