Sunroof wind defector popped out catching sunroof preventing closure. Initially had it replaced under warranty. Problem recurred recently initially snapped it back in place and put some silicone grease worked for awhile. Slipped back out and catches again. Read various fixes on board. Didnt't like the idea of removing it altogether, sure it makes less noise when I keep deflector down with my fingers but I feel the wind pressure pulsating in my ears. After looking at the problem realized that the issue is the lack of medial force on the plastic tab to keep it under the metal rail. Tried wedging a piece of wood cut from a paint stir stick (standard issue from a local hardware store) The standard stir stick is almost the exact width so it can wedge the plastic tab assembly that is attached to the arm in place so that it does not pop out. From my observation the plastic tab does not only pop upwards it also pops laterally (outwards). I cut the wood from the stir stick carved out a little contour with a pocket knife so there is room for the hinge to the arm. This would give it a temporary fix. The wood will tend to rock back and forth and it can pop out if the arm rubs against it. So I glued another piece of the stir stick on the anterior and posterior and use these as foot plates and use epoxy to glue down to secure it further. You also need to carve the wood so that the arem does not rub against it. Seems to work fine. If anyone is interested they can let me know how to insert photos on this site and I can post a few.
