4 cyl aero wagon 2003, 80,000. My serpentine belt (pretty new, long, prob continental) jumped off the pulley and stayed intact. It's back on now, and I see that it dances from side to side just a bit on the tensioner pulley, not that I can see on the others. Not hanging off one edge, but riding a bit fro side to side. When I release the tensioner, I can feel a strong spring, but it seems to short a distance to sense damping.
No oil or water loss. I'm about to buy an entire tensioner w/pulley and put it in. The top pulley is new. What else might cause it to hop off like that?
