I'll sketch out what I made tonight; it's not exactly just a spacer. And, my apologies fo rnot taking a few pictures. I can get a shot of the rear; is sits right on the lower perch of the shock as you guesed, but the front spacer is well hidden.
I have no idea whether a 30mm is normal or not, but I wouldn't count on it. My advice would be to measure your suspension height and make spacers the same thickness as the difference between your measurements and the stock height.
