MIU (Instrument) bulb replacement & Tech 2? Posted by Larry West [Email] (#1140) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Larry West) on Wed, 19 Aug 2009 10:32:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Last night, I noticed that the lower half of my speedo wasn't lit up. Of course, it was LAST weekend that I had the dash apart to replace the cupholder...
My mechanic told me that I should replace all the bulbs, and that I should do it at his place (meaning I do it, but there), because it may require the MIU to be re-connected to the car using Tech 2. Can anyone confirm this? Anders/SWEDECAR?
When I searched the board, I didn't find any references to needing to do that, so I thought it might be an unusual occurrence, but I wanted to know if anyone here has heard of it (I should look it up in WIS tonight).
Car is a 1999 LPT (X3003411, which comes up as a 1998 in WIS)
Also, must I purchase the uber-pricy bulbs with the black socket, or can I simply replace the bulbs in the sockets?
Thanks,
