If you get "KEY NOT ACCEPTED", you can push the "unlock" button on the remote (either one). The 9-5 picks up the signal from the remote through a different path, verifies that it is a known remote, and will allow you to start the car. You may need to keep pushing the button for a while.
The trunk button is used to see how many keys and remotes you have programmed to the car.
Here is what the OM sayz about "KEY NOT ACCEPTED":
"Fault in key transmitter or in ignition-
switch receiver.
Turn ignition switch to ON and press
the unlock button on the key. Start
the engine.
Have the car checked by an authorized
Saab dealer."
If the remote is NOT programmed to the car, it cannot override the "key not accepted" message, from what I understand.
The override is designed for faults in the key recognition system. It is NOT designed to get past the security.
