First of all, what exactly did you hear about this "impoved Aero" in November 2001? That is the first I have heard - I thought the replacement for the 9-5 was still a few years away.. I am interested because I am about to acquire a new 9-5 Aero. I would wait a year if I saw major improvements coming. Can you please explain further?
The S4 I think is a wonderful car, but I suspect even the S4 Avant would seem very small after driving the 9-5. I find my wife's A4 simply too cramped. It is a delight in foul weather.
I don't know about the S60, though I did drive a 2001 V70 T5. It has incredible power, but I did not like the torque steer , sluggish throttle response, or bland interior. The exterior is much improved in all the new Volvos.
The BMW would be a winner, but do you want to blend in with all the other Bimmers?
An option would be to buy a cheap beater used car until you heard final word on the "improved" Aero. That would be agony, I expect! Can you borrow a car for 6 months from a friend? Take the bus?
