575 miles on one tank

Just drove up from Sacramento to Portland and decided to slow down a bit and enjoy the scenery since I'm always in such a rush. I was also curious to see if I could make it on one tank. I took the scenic route (I-5 to 97 north past Crater Lake, then back onto I-5 at Eugene).
I kept the speed down to 60-65 instead of my usual 70-75, only passed a few times, and kept the cruise off in the mountainous parts - the result was 34.6mpg (hand calc'd) outta the old girl (01 LPT 5-spd). 575 miles on 16.6 gal. It would have gone over 600 before running dry - amazing.
I think if I had thought to air the tires up to 40 instead of usual 36 I might have topped 35mpg. I was getting a little nervous the last 25 miles as I got stuck in a pretty bad traffic jam south of PDX, the res light was on, and the DTE was dropping fast. But made it to spare.
