2003 v6 104k, FILL COOLANT FLUID Posted by jgARC03SW [Email] (#1216) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jgARC03SW) on Tue, 22 Sep 2009 06:27:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
During Labor Day weekend I saw my coolant level was a bit low, so I found Dexcool at an Autozone. Put in about 4 small plastic cups worth once I got the car back to her inlaws and let the engine cool overnight.
This morning I moved the car for my wife to take her Elantra in for state inspection and when I turned it to ON it said FILL COOLANT FLUID.
The level was just above the lower hose, lower than it had been before.
I put in about 6 little cups worth more to get the level midway between the thick part of the fluid container and the maximum KALT/COLD line.
No leaks visible (yet) on the ground, I've been checking for that all month.
Should I order a coolant bypass valve or does that only produce a sudden, bad leak (I know what that's like I test drove a used 9-5 at a used car place in Philly of questionable repute, turned off the car and orange goo started pouring out the underside)
I know last time I posted people said to look at the intercooler, please advise what exactly to look for (picture would be helpful) and where. Does eEuro or similar sell replacement hoses too?
