This is the question...
2004 9-5 aero wagon manual, CPO until July 2010.
I had my car stolen about 6 weeks ago. The car has been used to race in the streets around the house for about 15 minutes while we were sleeping. The keys has been found in the glove box of the second (and older) car. It has been found damaged the next day. Roughly :
. left wheel rubs against the arch
. right tie rod is broken
. 2 radiators (A/C and inter-cooler) are damaged.
. 2 xenon lamps are broken
. Other components are mainly body
My indy tells me I should not worry about the engine. Same for the transmission.
The big question is about whether I keep the car or not.
Estimation of repairs is $12K, as for the value of the car.
Options are :
1. I may bargain to have it repaired.
2. I may get the cash to purchase another car
My problem is finding another similar is pretty difficult (aero, wagon and manual). I do not find any in Canada.
I would appreciate hearing from you about other options like
. VW passat 2.0T
. Audi A4 2.0T
. Other options? (wagon, manual, fun to drive)
One concern about letting the saab is to loose interrest reading this forum as I have been doing for the last years...
I must decide in the next couple of days. Any comments are wellcome.
Bye,
Francois
