Mechanic destroyed driver's side driveshaft case Posted by bstan9k [Email] (#215) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bstan9k) on Thu, 1 Oct 2009 10:27:38 In Reply to: technicians' names?, Aero'ed, Thu, 1 Oct 2009 09:30:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Primarily because my last encounter with Napleton Saab in the South Bend, IN, area a couple years ago produced disastrous results.
I needed a new driveshaft on my 9kT and after talking directly with the mechanic (who said he had 10 years experience), I find out he broke the case cover trying to get it off by pounding on it with a hammer (like he does with Hondas) instead of unbolting it. They also ordered all the wrong parts. I was rather upset, and didn't pay any bill, and should have sued.
I ended up having my car towed 200 miles to Flikama Saab in Merrillville, IN, where they did a great job (and didn't charge me for a new case cover). Unfortunately that location is no longer in business.
