Bit the bullet.... Koni FSDs on order!

Well, I was just checking Koni FSD shock availability at Shox.com since they have free shipping to Canada. At $809.20 US for the 4-shock set, I was thinking it was over the top for my 1999 Se V6, but I intend to keep the car a few more years as it only has 153,400 km or less than 100,000 miles.
I've just completed a lot of DIY repairs and saved a lot more in labor than the FSDs cost so I feel pretty good about that. I still like this Saab the most of any vehicles I've owned and almost all newer cars I could afford don't satisfy as much either.
I really was pleased with my Bilstein HD rear shocks until one side went very weak in the summer. My original front struts aren't too bad but they are nearly 11 years old.
The Saab 9-5 FSDs are not even in the US for the momment so they must come via a drop shipment direct from Koni. Since they are coming from Europe to Koni USA and then to me, it will take a few weeks but I am in no particular hurry. Since I was hesitating quite a bit, the Shox.com rep sweetened the pot a little and I pulled out the VISA! Less of a bite with the stronger Canadian dollar too; and the DHL shipping deal they have charges no brokerage fees, just the required duty and taxes.
I will post my initial reaction as soon as I have them installed... sometime in November. I hope I will be a pleased as others on this BB such as Cryptical who wrote Aug 14 that they were the best mod he'd done on his car.
More later,
Reg
