When replacing my summer tires (I have Nokian's for winter), I opted for Dunlop SP Sport Signature (considered High Performance All-Season).
I really wasn't concerned about "All-Season", as I have dedicated winter tires, but I did want the "W" weight rating for my SportWagon, so that really limited my choices. I also didn't want a noisy tire that wouldn't last, so that eliminated a lot of "Summer" performance tires.
The "All-Seasons" would typically be the best combination of quiet, long-life, wet and dry weather performance, and some snow/ice performance. The latest issue of Consumer Reports lists these as "Recommended", with only "Good" in Snow Traction and Ice Braking, perfect for my use. I'll probably just leave these on through Nov, take off 1st March. If I get caught in a little snow, should be OK, vs. some "Summer" tires. I can save the Nokians for Dec-Feb, probably get several more season out of them.
