Hello, When you brighted the other driver there was a drop in voltage in your headlight system. Perhaps that caused the output "I" (amperage) to drop to a point where the arc was lost. A widening gap in an old bulb can contribute to this. Are there voltage selection circuits in the balast which can go bad? There are in the equipment I use. Regarding the episode of level seeking you described (a process about which I know nothing): Are there encoders or optical positioning readers involved? If so see if they're dirty. Kira
