Can Tech II detect lean running?

I was thinking that the runs I did with a Tech II connected would have detected any air leaks, but after thinking it through a little more, I am not so sure. Please correct me if I am wrong, Tech II would calculate Air Mass discrepancy as the difference between requested mass and measured mass from the MAF sensor...correct? However, if a leak occured AFTER the MAF sensor, this would not show up as a discrepancy, but will only be adjusted by adding fuel if excess oxygen was detected my the O2 sensor (probably resulting in some brief pinging)...is there a value such as additive fuel adaption value that could give me insight into this?
TIA
