How to approach dealer

The local dealer is not to sharp when working on SAABs. While the car was under warranty they would take 2-3 times to fix any particular item. Normally, I would not consider them but I have a $50 coupon for their shop and I have a little job that needs taking care of.
I want the alarm disabled on my 2000 lpt wagon. I am tired of replacing batteries and hearing the random alarms go off. I have read here that they can disable the alarm with the service tool. Unfortunately, when I asked the other day they said, "no way" The alarm is an integral part of the ignition and the only way you can fix it is to replace the unit with a new one. I know they are wrong on both accounts.
Any suggestions on how to approach them to get them to read the manual and learn how to disable the alarm?
Drive Safe,
Joe
