I did the tape mod on my 04 Aero, and the head unit was different. The daughter board with the switches was quite a bit different than what is documented, and would have been very trial and error as to getting the tape switch to work. I used a tape adapter in the deck to engage Tape mode, and then had clean iPod input available. But there was still audible noise in the car (not speakers)from the deck running. I now have an AudioTroll, and have installed a momentary switch to reset the stereo from the fuse when it locks up. It is the best solution with the stock headunit. For anything better, I would recommend a Kenwood double din replacement.
