A couple of months ago I had my coolant bypass valve replaced. Soon after I left the garage my check engine light came on. I got the code read on my way to work and called the garage, told them that it was P1110 and wondered if they were related. They said that not likely, but they would take a look at it.

I brought the car back to them and they said that a hose was disconnected and they took care of it.

So, a couple of days later, the CEL comes back on. Got it read and it was P1110 again. To my surprise, when I opened the engine the vacuum hose that connects to the BPC valve was disconnected.....hmmmmm....I connected it again and had the CEL cleared.

That same day the CEL comes back. So I got it read again, and again....blah blah blah....I decided to get the BPC replaced. Ordered the part and new hose from EEuroparts, got it replaced, put new hose and got the CEL cleared.

CEL comes back that same day.

The mechanic tells me that it could be the hose I installed, being "not good enough" or that there is a solenoid that controls the BPC that goes bad....At this point I don't know what to do. If I visit the garage is likely going to cost me, even though they said that they would look at it. I don't want to ruin my relationship with the mechanic, and before I really "fight him" I want to be sure that they are responsible.

What else can it be aside from the BPC (which is new) and/or hoses?

Any help will be appreciated.

Cliffs: P1110 came after coolant bypass valve replacement. Got it cleared multiple times and it kept coming back until I replaced the BPC valve. Aside from the valve or hoses, what else can it be?
