Hello, I have a recurring 0442 code. Is the purge valve the one mounted on the underside of the sheet-metal-crosspiece an inch or so behind the radiator? I found a small (~1"X 1"X 0.5" thick)-irregularly shaped thing connected to a foot of chafe resistant vacuum hose going from it to the intake manifold. It was held in place by a 10mm bolt, just off the center line of the vehicle. Since reading this thread I'm going to remove the access plate to the gas tank too. I don't think anything near my tank is cracked because I never smell any gas. When I scoped out the job of removing the rear fender liner I was surprised to see how much play there was in the bundle of hard plastic vapor lines going up to the filler neck. Now that I'm armed with the proper plastic pop rivets I can give it a good inspection. Also, if I'm wrong about that thing rear of the radiator, can someone tell me where the purge valve is? Thanks, Kira
