What about Turbocharging small displacement engines? Of course GM shafted SAAB by refusing to put a Direct Injection turbo engine in the recent model year SAABs, but the turbo technology being used in the new Chevy Cruze , Chevy Beat(?), and Chevy Volt must have come from SAAB.
This may be enough of a reason for GM to keep SAAB for a while longer, at least until a new buyer is found. They had the same heart burn with Opel. Without Opel GM has no mid-sized vehicle platform knowledge! Duh! I really question the intelligence of CEO's who don't know where the market advantage and expertise of their companies resides.
