if you've worn down 1/4". Or put new 225/45R17 and underinflate by 3 psi while overinflating other tires by 2 psi, should be about the same radius.
just kidding

How much did it wear? Without new one to compare, might be difficult to determine. How much wear is left (before wear bar)?
Unless you hit something to cause the tire to blow out, isn't there an original warranty on the tires? It won't pay for all, but should pay for some.
Were you expecting to go the entire 45,000 miles (on lease) with original tires?
If you've worn 1/4" from tread, then a new tire would have approximately 2% greater circumference.

Replacing the same-axle pair would be the preferred way to go. However, (and I expect some flames here, especially since I don't even have a SAAB), you COULD replace just the single tire. It won't hurt the car, I think. If someone more knowledgeable than myself about transaxles (and I know that you're out there), has differing information, I want to hear it . I don't know what SAAB's recommended tire rotation pattern is. Do they tell you to keep tires on the same side of vehicle, or do you switch? If you switch, you could just keep that tire on the front, alternate the other three, to allow it to wear at an accelerated rate (compared to other three).

If the tires are more than half worn, replace all four.

1998 Prelude (until replaced with 2002 Aero SportWagon?)
1998 VFR800 (can't replace with any single bike, but the tires are replaced in pairs)
