It's a sin to put studded tires on a SAAB. It's a new generation of drivers I guess? I live in the Portland Oregon area and have never needed snow tires on my SAAB's, let alone studded tires. They are also hell on the roads which is another reason I won't own them. I really support Costco's decision to no longer sell studded tires. Last year, we had a worse than normal winter and on December 24th I drove my SAAB over the pass to Bend with only all-season radials. The car did very good. Coming home, the pass was open only to people carrying traction devices. As I passed all the stuck cars, the Oregon State Police waved me on through. What a great snow car! OK, my gripe session for the day. Just hate the State asking for money to repair our roads with all the gutters in them from studded tires, yet they still haven't outlawed them. My Uncle has Michelin X-Ice studless tires and they are totally amazing.
