The V6 CPS is located on the front of the engine, transmission side so it reads the flywheel. You should just be able to see it from the top. It should have a heatshield to protect it from the heat of the turbo.
The leads run around the engine under the throttle body and end up in a small blue connector behind the TB.
IIRC you could measure DC resistance at the plug towards the CPS, which should be around 500 ohm when cold. It will rise when the engine is hot.
Its most common failure mode is shutting off when hot, not when cold. It wouldn't be my first place to start looking given your situation.
is there nothing connected to the service you're doing that might cause it? How's your fuel pump? Did you replace the fuel filter?
