The End of My 9-5

I got into an accident a couple days ago. The front left corner of my car has been smashed in. I got the worst of it seeing as the other vehicle was a 99 Chevy Tahoe. Remarkably, my car is still drivable (hey it's a Saab). As it turns out, I was about to sell it and get a new car within the next couple weeks. Thus, I have no interest in getting the car repaired.
The insurance adjuster estimated the damage to be worth $4,160 to repair. He did not open the hood as he was concerned he might not be able to get it closed again, he probably could but we didn't take the chance. He said once he gets to just over $5,000 and change he'd have to consider the car a loss and change the title to salvage in which case I could only sell it as a parts car.
I can take it to a couple of body shops, have them open the hood and perhaps they'd find higher costs which would mean more money for me. Alternatively if they find it would cost more than the the market value of the car I could get more money from the insurance company but they'd then have to declare the title salvage and I'd thus not be able to get as much for it in selling the car myself.
Any thoughts?
