TCS closes the throttle to reduce torque if the front wheels start to break free. ESP is a million times cooler. It has a steering wheel angle sensor, a center of gravity sensor, and can apply the brakes to each individual wheel to keep you in a straight line or keep you turning depending on what angle the steering wheel is at. If you have ESP and ever get a snowy day in a parking lot or a deserted road, do some fancy maneuvers and see what ESP feels like. It is absolutely so freaking cool. Watch the video below, it gives a good idea of the difference between TCS and ESP. In the ESP demonstration watch the wheel lock up to keep the guy in control.
