Thanks for that link - it is very helpful. I had read about code 08 and others had mentioned they had either only heat or only cold but their fan worked. In my case the fan does not work as no air is blown out thru the vents so it seems a different problem or maybe I have 2 problems.
I also wanted to mention another issue which may be related. Last summer I noticed cold air was coming out of only the passenger vents when the AC was on. I read on this board about making sure the refrigerant level was OK so the indie checked this yesterday after putting in the new fan motor. The refrigerant level was very low affecting the driver side. He filled it up but discovered a leak in the 'discharge' hose. The fan worked while the refrigerant level was filled but didn't work when I picked up the car later after it had leaked out.
Is it possible the leak in the hose and resulting loss of refrigerant can cause the fan to stop working?
