According to my WIS:
1) Remove the radio. A set of $4 DIN Radio removal tools from WalMart makes this real easy
2) Remove the ACC unit.
I suspect there might be a step 1-1/2, whereby you remove the metal cage the radio sits in. Maybe 4 small screws to secure the cage in the dash.
But if the WIS is correct the ACC unit is just a friction fit (like the SID), and removing the radio first only makes it easier to pull the ACC unit out by providing you with a large dash opeing.
