I am consideirng the follwoing three options for my tranny which was factory spec'ed to use Dexron-III:
1) Name brand fluid labeled as suitable for Dexron-III applications. Basically what I have been doing for the past 3 years. Least costly option.
2) Name brand Dexron-VI fluid as recommended by GM. I think Dexron-VI is a semi-synthetic. Appears to be the most costly choice.
3) Amsoil or Mobil-1 full synthetic ATF. Surprisingly this seems to be the middle cost choice, particularly if I order the Amsoil on-line.
I am strongly leaning towards #3 but am asking if anyone has had a bad experience going this route, or can relate real experiences with this option and option #2.
Thanks.
