The rust ridge on the outer edge of the polished surface gets higher and higher with use (i.e., the polished part is cut deeper by the pads) usually the rotor itself has a stamp on the outside (raidally facing) edge, and when you have a barke caliper micrometer you are measuring the thickness of the rotor at the polished part. You have pad wear left to go, although you need to use a flashlight to see if the inner pad is much different. One way to judge the rotor is to compare with the front, and use your finger to feel that ridge.
No reason to take those apart is the pads all loook like the one in the pisture.
