I was getting really disgusted with the rattles this winter now that I am driving my '06 daily and being winter windows have been up. My 19 year old 900 was still completely unobjectionable but the '06 with ~15K was driving me crazy.
There are probably multiple rattles from the roof and doors in my '06 but I managed to resolve the most annoying (at least temporarily) and as result have actually been pretty happy the last few weeks.
I had one rattle that could at times be constant. Even 5 mph, especially if surface a little course, without bumps was enough for a continuous rattle at times. Also if I lightly tapped on the headliner anywhere in the rear of car (from center of the roof to the rear as far as the c-pillar) was enough to create the sound at times.
Apparently it had something to do with the rear light insert in the roof. I can't explain exactly what but I pulled it out played with the clips a little bit and put it back in and it has been fine since. I assume it will come back as I really didn't do anything of substance; if it does I am going to try some electrical tape at the contact points to see if that isolates it. But last 3 weeks or so it has been OK.
Haven't had any radio issues.
