First, the motor brushes don't spin; they're mounted to the frame of the motor, not the rotor.
Second, the motor spins a cage which moves air into the car. To vibrate as you have described, weight has been added or subtracted from the cage assembly.
Remove the moor and visually inspect. It is possible that something has become lodged in there and it can simply be removed. On the other hand, if parts of the cage have broken off replacement of the motor assembly is probably indicated. eEuroparts lists it at $329.90 for any 9-5 '00-'09.
