Before you spend a lot of money replacing the transmission try these lower cost items. First, re-flash the transmission software. Maybe a software glitch is engaging the torque converter clutch too soon. Second, do a full flush and re-fill of the transmission fluid. Maybe dirt, sediment, or other manufacturing debris has a passage or valve partially blocked.
Step Zero should be to interrogate the transmisison controller looking for faults or unusual conditions that have not yet caused the transmision fault indicator light to illuminate.
