Help! Battery Overcharged (Maybe)

My year old Bosch Battery Died. Bought at Pep Boys and their tester confirmed it was gone. Battery had expanded some and was still hot when I got it inside the building. Here is what I have checked with new battery installed:
At Idle 13.75 V without air and lights
13.35 V with air and lights on
At 2000 Plus RPM
13.80 V without air and lights
13.25 V with air and lights on
Are these figures ok or are they too high?
Pep Boys were saying that at 14 V you can have boiling problems and that 5 minutes of running at high voltage can do a battery in.
Could this be spiking at some point and not showing up as I tested??
Is there a voltage regulator that can be replaced if need be?
I would greatly appreciate any help you might offer
Alternator was replaced from Eeuroparts about 2 years ago and the panel has no warning lamps showing.
Need the car but don't want to ruin another battery.
