I've read some of those Brake Fluid in the oil stories Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 16 May 2010 11:09:18 In Reply to: Re: hi, stupid mistake (oil change) kind of long, john, Sun, 16 May 2010 07:15:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've never been certain if the people actually did htat, or the posters were just having a good time reading all the return comments.
Didn't one of these stories involve a new Mustang? Pages and pages of posts, and the originator just kept adding more fuel to the fire by claiming to have dome even stupider things trying to fix the original problem.
Your plan to drain out the special cocktail, re-fill with dino oil, then drain again and re-fill with fresh synthetic sounds good to me.
For what it is worth, I had to do someting very similar when changing the oil in a S-10 Blazer that had a leaky head gasket I didn't know about. The oil draining out was sludged and I only had fresh synthetic to re-fill it. I had to put the expensive stuff in as part of the flush to get the sludge out. Three oil changes in quick succession and a new head gasket later the vehicle was good to go.
