I'd posted back on April 20 that it seemed my 1999 SE V6 showed more sagging of the rear suspension with a modest load than I remembered. I had checked the ride height from the ride height tables (from the WIS I think) at this web site.

For the life of me I cannot find the ride height tables in my own copy of the WIS and the search function of the WIS seems awful to me.
Anyhow, the rear ride height with standard suspension and 16" wheels is supposed to be 605 mm or 23.82" This is measured from the lowest edge of the wheel rim to the edge of the wheel arch of the sheet metal fender at its highest point. When I originally checked my car, it was only 22.63", over an inch lower that this spec. Front was lower too but by less than 1/2.
Based on that I ordered new rear springs. I installed them about 5 days ago. At first the ride height was about 5/8" higher (only) but now that the new springs have been loaded for a time, the ride height has settled to within 1/8" of where it was with the old springs!
I wonder if the table I found is incorrect? With a full tank of gas and nothing else loading the car, it looks perfectly fine visually.
While I was changing the springs, I compared the free height of the old and new and they were almost identical. So it seem only logical that the ride height is essentially unchanged. I hope the new springs might make a difference with a load, but it seems unlikely if they were no higher uncompressed than the old springs.
So... after 11 years and 163,000 km, it seems my original rear springs were not exhausted. Kind of goes against some of the other anecdotal situations I've read on this BB. They are the correct springs as the colour code matches the original.
Go figure,
