Rear toe out common in 2004 Aero Wagon?

Someone following wife's Aero thought her rear tires were 'toed out'. I've never had an issue with alignment/toe in/etc on my 99, 900, or 3 9000s. Is this an issue with the 9-5 Aero Wagon?
I pretty much discounted the idea, but today I rotated the tires, and the rears seem to have some cupping on the inside of the tire. Enough to make noise. Don't know how long it has been since rotation because I bought the car about 3-4k ago.
Is this related to alignment or suspension? The car has around 75k mi, and I have read here that struts, shocks, and springs tend to die early on these cars, but don't feel a problem with any of that. The car is totally tight in all handling. Tires are 235-45-17 Conti extreme with ~ 60%+ tread left.
Thanks for your thoughts.
