Hand brake adjustment, new rotor Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Wed, 26 May 2010 11:44:06 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just replaced my rear rotors on my 9-3 with the 9-5 vented rotors, and calipers. My hand brake would alway be super nice and tight, only requiring a couple of clicks, three at the most. When I installed the new rotor, I turned the star-shaped wheel until it was just barely rubbing. I got it to the point where it was rubbing EVER so slightly at one point, every turn. Now, when I yank on the hand brake, it appears to need one extra click-ish. I'd like it the way it was before. Now, what my common sense says is that being a new rotor, it is not 100% like the old one and even if it rubs ever so slightly, within a few miles of driving it will get worn down (the shoes) enough to stop rubbing and eventually taking the shape of the new rotor.
What do you think? Car has only about 39k miles, so all works as it should
Thanks as always, Bender
