It was good. Several years ago a leather panel had worn through on my then-200K miles 2000 9-5 Aero.
After some research I found that Goldwing's offer of a like-new identical seat was the cheapest solution; yes, actually cheaper than buying the leather pieces and having an upholstery shop stitch them in.
Larry's point about the side airbag location is very valid. The upholstery stitching is designed to rip apart in a controlled fashion as part of the side airbag deployment. Because of this I would be hesitant to have an upholstery shop do any sewing in this area.
