When my battery needed replacement at 5 years in late 2004, there seemed to be few choices, and went with the Interstate MTP-91, finding it locally.
I just now had to replace that in a failing situation. While looking for the Interstate, I remembered something that came up while at my Sam's Club this past winter. Energizer makes a battery that lists for the 9-5. it is a 48. Note that the Interstate has no group size listed. We checked it--the dimensions are the same, even to the locking edge on the front. It even has a vent tube for attachment. The CCA is 700 and CA 875, which are equal and higher than the Interstate. 3 year replacement, 8 year pro-ration. And price is a whopping $64.32 (plus tax) installed (cheaper than the garden variety battery that i need to get for my basic Mazda 626!). Only down was they did not use a memory stick so what was in the trip computer (but NOT the radio) was lost, no biggie.
BTW, Sears/NTB still does not list a battery for the Saab.
