1999-2009 [Subscribe to Daily Digest] |
Hi all,
I know you all have heard these posts before, but here is another. I took my new (used) 2007 9-5 Aero on a nice road trip (from Kentucky to Melbourne, FL) last week, and I have a big enough impression to reflect on what is better/worse since my 2000 SE that I had until about 2005.
RADIO:
MUCH, MUCH better in every way especially the loudness/clarity and the XM signal quality. Actually, it is much better than the XM that is in my wife's Infiniti I35. It sounds pretty much as good as any CD that I would have in the unit. Love the input for my Zune (though it gets knocks for not having as much crank power as the other modes)
ENGINE:
Well, all I can say is 60 HP does wonders, over the V6 - It reminds me of the 1999 Viggen that I had - seems like it just never runs out of breath at high speeds.
RIDE:
Much stiffer, but I like it. Noise levels I would say are the same - acceptable, and comparable with my wife's Infiniti. The dealership put new tires on it when they certified it, they are Ventus HRII, so I am sure they are not the best in the world for noise. To me, the AERO is a much better highway cruiser than around town trip take as the ride is pretty firm (and sometime punishing) on rougher roads.
All in all, I love it. I love it for the fact that whoever had the car before was like me - they kept it nearly mint. Most mistake it for new, not an '07.
The verdict is still out on my dealership experience at Bluegrass Motorsports in Louisville. I am hoping they make it all right.
I did get a certified Aero unit at a nice price ($19,500), but I am having problems getting the manual set and the extra key that they (unfortunately for me) verbally promised me (both the Sales manager and my salesman). I did not get those in writing, other than an email saying they would, "take care of it" - so I will be lucky to ever get them.
Also, I am a bit concerned that the CPO has not showed up yet on the VIN (verified at the dealership two weeks ago in Lexington when I had to get the battery replaced under warranty). I called the sales manager, and he promised it would be (actually he said they "punch it through" when they finalize all of the paperwork). It was only a week and a half after I bought it, but still, makes me nervous. It was clearly advertised as a CPO car (I have printed it out), and I have a copy of the CPO checklist, so I think I am safe.
Sorry so long winded!
