2002 Automatic SportWagon 114K miles
My son just called. His car died. According to the information I have, the car was running fine when he stopped to pickup a passenger. He shifted into park and the car died. Now coincidences aside (fuel pump, CPS, DIC, and other typical problem areas), is it possible that the gear select indicator switch caused the engine to stop? I know that it can inhibit starting, but I don't know if a fault in the switch can cause the engine to shut off.
I'm 800 miles away and I'm trying to help him out.
Thanks,
SteveB
